Building Your Home Apothecary: Seasonal Herbal Home Medicine Making Workshops
£70.00
Home herbalism was once a very widespread and normalised practice in family homes, utilising both preventative and curative herbal treatments for a variety of common ailments. Join me for one or more of four Saturday morning introductory workshop to learn how to identify, harvest and incorporate both wild and common cultivated herbs into your day to day life for good health throughout the year. From hedgerow weeds to kitchen herbs you might already have, these classes will cover a wide selection of common plants and their medicinal uses. You'll also learn to make numerous medicinal herbal preparations such as tinctures, glycerites, lozenges and liniments.
In each class we'll get to know a handful of seasonal plants, a group of herbal actions and what they mean, and prepare a variety of medicines. No two workshops will be exactly alike, but after each you'll come away with the confidence to work safely with herbs to support your health in a number of ways. Registration is for individual classes. If you'd like to sign up for all four, get in touch for a discounted price.
Classes will meet at the Fifield Road Apothecary studio at Home Farm Yard, Bruern, OX7 6QE. Each class will include tea and coffee and a light lunch, and will run from 10 am until 2 pm approximately (sometimes classes my run a few minutes over!)
